Dixieland and Swing: CanUS Hot Jazz Band

After appearances in jazz festivals all over North America and including the Kennedy Center in Washington,D.C. this is a band full of surprises and with a strong vocal component copied from such as the Mills Brothers & Boswell Sisters. They feature dixieland and swing favorites in a six piece band that will rock your socks. A review in "The Mississippi Rag" by Paige Van Vorst states that "CanUS is a one-of-a-kind group....Toni Blodgett has created a group with a sound unlike any other on the scene today, which is a tremendous accomplishment."
 Musicians include the creme de la creme of professional musicians in Victoria, each one a star in his or her own right.  They appear two Sundays a month 3-6 pm at Hermann's Jazz Club in Victoria with a history going back 35 years and with a strong following of fans. Also for many the fact that there is a dance floor as well adds to the enjoyment of the music.
