Hutchinson Andrew Trio

The Hutchinson Andrew Trio is a unique powerhouse of prairie jazz. An acoustic piano-based trio, “HAT” comprises three stellar musicians: bassist Kodi Hutchinson, pianist Chris Andrew, and drummer Karl Schwonik (a Downbeat award winner). Hard-swinging modernists, the members of HAT list artists such as Robert Glasper and Brad Mehldau as key influences. Their third album, the aptly named "Prairie Modern," is a showcase for the trio’s imaginative and technically impressive music-making skills.
