8:30“Curtis Macdonald establishes himself as one who stands apart from the rest.” – All About Jazz
Alberta-born Curtis Macdonald is an extremely talented alto sax player and composer who currently resides and teaches in New York City. Despite his relative youth, Macdonald already has a couple of CDs out and has made it into Downbeat Magazine’s Reader’s Poll. Very much a cerebral modernist, Macdonald calls himself a “sound artist” who likes to surprise his audience with music that is highly structured but delivered with intuitive freedom. Adam Jackson drums and Chris Tordini acoustic bass
